Early hour of today, a lorry loaded with loggs of wood is said to have failed break while trying to cruise the high steep topography, it nearly crushed the accompanying keke with four passengers and a pregnant woman who narrowly escaped death.
An eye witness, called on the Government to do something about the lorry drivers. Another, appealed to the Imo government to please complete the Akanchawa by Nekede road so that this lorries can ply through that road to their destination. A stitch in time saves nine(the multitude)
No sooner than the state governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha opened the alternative inland roads in owerri urban, the roads have been repeatedly raped, misused, basterdized and abused by the careless and uncontrolled drivers of some of the heavy duty trucks, tankers and lorries which are most often than not, overloaded.
Since this alternative road trunks the Aba & Port Harcourt road axis of the state, it now evidenced that the road is allergic to heavily duty vehicles as such the road should be barricaded to prohibit these kinds of automobiles from causing more harm than imagined.
