A 2-storey building at FedPONek, Umuokomochie (beside the MTN MASK) is about to collapse. The building is believed to be a hostel for students of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede (FEDPONEK). According to report, students in this lodge has been asked to pack their properties.
"Bros this was observed by the student weh deh live for downstair.. the gradual falling don bend en burglary" an occupant (student)said. Another student around said "the gradual falling of this lodge, is due to the low quality material used in the construction work... as at 2012 or 2013".
Further information revealed that the building was constructed through direct labour in order to save cost and possibly make more profit from the construction exercise by the contractor.
