IMSG SET COMMITTEE TO DE-CONGEST PRISON -  AS Eze MADUMERE, Dept Gov. And CHIEF JUDGE MADE THE LIST

Determined to decongest the prison in Imo state, the Imo state government has set up a committee to find a lasting solution on how to decongest the prison.
 
Addressing Journalists shortly after a Security Council meeting at Government House, the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Chief Jude Ejiogu said the committee is made up of the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere (MFR) and the Chief Judge of Imo State, His Lordship, Paschal Nnadi.
 
The Secretary to Government of Imo State said that the state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha (OON) has mandated the committee to visit the prison to enable them proffer a lasting solution on how to decongest the prison.
 
Chief Ejiogu also disclosed that a committee has been set up headed by the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere to make peace with the workers of Imo Airport and their host community; pointing out that the gesture is to ensure a lasting peace in the area.
 
He said that the council also resolved to fight kidnapping, cultism and the issues of raping to standstill in the state; adding that the security Chiefs have resolved to deplore their officers to Ohaji/Egbema to enable them stop the ugly menace, such as cultism going on in the area.
 
The SGI advised Imo indigenes especially those from Ohaji/Egbema to desist from societal ills in order to maintain peace and order.
 
He said that the council also resolved to find a lasting solution to the lingering strike action embarked upon by the workers of Federal Medical Center Owerri; adding that the state government will have meeting with the union of the hospital to find a lasting solution.
 
Chief Ejiogu also appealed to Imo indigenes to always ensure that their gutters/drainages are kept clean as the state would be experiencing heavy down pour as forecast by Nigeria meteorological agency (NIM).
